Amanda Watson is an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Virginia. Her research interests include Wearable Technology, Internet of Medical Things, and High Performance Athletics. She leads the Watson Research Lab, which develops wearable technology for healthcare and athletic performance. She is cofounder and CEO of Luminosity Wearables a company commercializing a noninvasive continuous glucose monitor.

Sharon Lu won winning the Charles L. Brown Deptartment of ECE Award for Excellence Award. THE CHARLES L. BROWN DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL & COMPUTER ENGINEERING AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE is presented annually to the two 4th-year undergraduate students who are judged by the awards committee to have outstanding credentials, including being ranked in the top 20% of their class, showing evidence of interest in communications and computers, and showing evidence of professional interests and activities.
